Wild Bend Earthquake
A magnitude 3.5 earthquake struck about 25 miles south of Colorado City, Arizona at 4:48 a.m. local time. The earthquake was felt by residents of Pipe Springs National Monument. At 4:53 a.m. a magnitude 2.8 aftershock occurred about 2 miles north of the main shock. The earthquakes are located in the area of the Toroweap fault zone and a preliminary focal mechanism suggests normal faulting on a northeast trending fault.
