KACHINA VILLAGE

 

The Flagstaff and Verde Valley area was rocked by a magnitude 4.7 earthquake at 10:57:38 Sunday evening, November 30, 2014 local time (05:57:38 UTC time, December 1,2014). The epicenter of the quake was located due south of Kachin Village and ground shaking was felt all over the city of Flagstaff and further south in Sedona and Oak Creek Village. No significant damage was reported. A number of small aftershocks have followed this earthquake. This is the largest earthquake to have occurred in northern Arizona since the April 1993 5.3 magnitude tremor to the northwest of Flagstaff near Valle, Arizona.
